At the turn of the 20th
Century, i.e. in 1900, the average life
expectancy for a man was 35 years.
Now the average life expectancy in the
UK is 75 for men and 79.9 for woman.

Likewise, in the first half of that century,
there was a reasonable expectation that
Long Term Care would take place at home
administered by ones immediate family,
which is very definitely not the case
now.
Whilst some assistance is provided by
the Social Services quality long term
care needs to be planned for in advance,
this is particularly important if the
spouse of the person needing long term
care is not going to be seriously disadvantaged.
Long Term Care pays out on failing 2, or 3, (you choose) out of
the following 6 Activities of Daily Living (ADLs),
or if you become incapacitated by means of becoming mentally impaired.
The six ADLs are:-
Dressing yourself.
Feeding yourself.
Getting out of a chair, or bed, unaided.
Going to the toilet unaided.
Moving from room to room.
Washing yourself.
Accord will analyse your financial health, help
ascertain your financial needs in the event that
long term care is required, then make a written
recommendation on how best to provide that
cover whilst protecting the other spouse or/and
your estate from impoverishment.
